  1. ESCORT B-17S TO PAYS DE CAUX

  3. On January 14, 1944, the 20th Fighter 
  4. Group was providing escort to B-17s en 
  5. route to bomb German rocket installations 
  6. in the Pas de Calais region of France.  In 
  7. the area of Fecamp, the pilots of the 79th 
  8. Squadron bounced eight FW 190s.  Two 
  9. of these FWs were downed by the 
  10. Lightning pilots.

  12. A few minutes later, the 20th ran into an 
  13. even larger force of FW 190s and Bf 109s.  
  14. One FW 190 was shot down during this 
  15. melee.

  19. Escort the bombers to their target at Pays 
  20. de Caux.  Protect your flight leader and 
  21. stay with him as he attacks any German 
  22. aircraft that try to intercept the B-17s.
